I went with the theme We Will Not Waffle, taken from a quote from from Elder Ballard, "We've got to be so solidly anchored in our testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ that, regardless of what may come next, we will not waffle; we will stand firm in our belief..."
With a little inspiration from Burlap and Denim and Young Living Love I pulled together my ideas.
I had a good time brainstorming ideas for waffle toppings and giving them fun church-related names. We take waffle toppings seriously at our house, so it was great to introduce some women to some new ideas. As I was refilling various bowls, I loved hearing the women ooohing and ahhhing over the offerings. I promised "all the trimmings," and I think it delivered! (Well, other than the couple I forgot at home. Darn.)
I'm excited to share the printables with you! Click here to download all the signs.
I love this! Wish I was part of your ward!

ReplyDeleteWhat was the lesson about at this activity?
ReplyDeleteI was planning on doing a brunch for our RS birthday party this year and then i found this! Love the idea! I was just wondering what did your speakers speak on? And did you have musical numbers or anything like that? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe had the speakers speak on building and strengthening a testimony (we have a lot of new converts and investigators in our ward), showing faith in Christ and enduring to the end. There were several good articles on each of these topics on the youth.lds.org site. We showed a Mormon message between each speaker, but I can't remember which ones we used—there are so many good ones to choose from!
DeleteCould you please provide the reference to Elder Ballard's talk. I have been searching to no avail and would love to read it.
