Hey Deid!
This should probably be a somewhat embarrassing story for me to share, but the outcome has been great... Last year I signed up for a trial membership of Amazon Prime with the plan of canceling it as soon as I could so I wouldn't be charged for it. Christmas season came and I ordered quite a few gifts from Amazon and they all arrived within 2 days, and I thought it was swell that my trial hadn't ended before Christmas!

But then I wondered how much longer exactly the free trial was good for. I looked into it and found that the trial had ended and automatically renewed in August! Four months ago! And since I had used the shipping benefit I was not able to cancel it.

So I looked at all the perks of Prime and then started using it like the crazy. The husband is a super fan of the free streaming. We've used it to watch seasons of shows we hadn't seen and pull up a movie for the boys on a slow afternoon without having to make a trip to Redbox. And I like the convenience of ordering a product at my convenience without having to remember to pick it up at the store or pay for shipping.

A happy little accident, you might say, that has turned us into Amazon Prime fans.

What about you? Have you ever unknowingly bought something you didn't think you needed and it changed your life?

Nik

P.S. I can't wait for our Valentine to show up in your mailbox tomorrow!

  1. Our free Prime membership through the Mom program recently ended and we (on purpose, wink) paid the money and kept it going. I love the free 2 day shipping and in a bind the $4 overnight is awesome.
